Travel Day Gear

Seriously guys, what is wrong with me? No post since the 8th? Is it me or does it feel like this month JUST started and its almost over!

Anyway, with 1 more day until I kick this cold DC weather (thats barely leaving the 20 degree mark) to the curb and start my little vacay I realize that I am no where near prepared for this trip, which takes me back to my first statement...didnt this month just start?

The center of my travel day outfit are my camo pants that I got from Zara and my faux leather moto jacket from H&M.  I guess my only dilemma is whether I should wear my boots or loafers with the outfit. Seeing as though it is still cold up here I want to dress approriately but not over do it because the temperature will be around 80+ degrees where im going. I figure either way it would be TSA friendly and comfortable to wear on the plane its just a hard decision to pick :(

What do you guys think? Boots or loafers?

Shivering hugs and love :)

Protective Style Challenge Update!

Who knew that I would make it this far in this challenge? I must say though that I am pretty proud of myself for sticking with it because about a month ago I was ready to call it quits! Although I am still anxious about Feb 19th, it is more so because I want to see the progress in my hair's health.

A few weeks before the PSC I started finger detangling my hair which has helped tremendously with knots and shedding.  Moisture is KEY, especially in the colder months and these protective styles help keep that moisture in and olive oil and vatika oil have become my best friends. For my current protective style Ive been bonding my hair and wearing a hat on top of them.  The pic below are the results from when I unbonded my hair and I must say that it LOVE it! Still curly but stretched and moisturized.

Have you joined the challenge?

Fitness Friday #6: Energy

Its the first Fitness Friday of the year guys!!! I know with everyones current resolutions taking full effect most people look at their health and want to make it better for the new year, so I hope that this FF post can help aid in your new journey.

With these FF posts I like to alternate between workouts and healthy foods/drinks to give a little bit of change to the series.  Ive always been active and exercised but my eating habits were not as good. Within the past year I have looked at the things that I ate alot closer, not so much for the calorie intake but more so for the nutrional facts like how much sodium was in what I was eating.

You can never go wrong with a homemade smoothie and for early morning risers like myself an extra boost of enegry without a crash is what we need. The smoothie below is really simple to make if you have a blender and the ingredients aren't difficult to find.

I like plain greek yogurt because there is more protein in it. Oh! In case you were wondering Muesli is like granola so you could use that instead :)

If you guys ever have any questions about certain workouts or suggestions as to future fitness friday post feel free to leave a comment and let me know. Try it out and let me know what you think!

Hugs and Love :)

Hello 2013!!

Happy New Year!! I know its not the 1st but it still counts.

With a New Year comes a new slate, a do over, a chance to fully leave all the negative things that happened in the past and just focus on the present. Although I didnt really come up with a resolution, I will however continue to work on becoming a better person as a whole and continue to grow personally as well as spiritually.  2012 has def been a trying year but because of it, my faith has grown tredemously and I cant wait to see what 2013 has in store.

I also plan to write down some goals that I would like to accomplish this year. Last year I wrote down a lifetime goal list and an end of 2012 goal list that started in October (in which I completed majority of them whoop whoop!)  I truly believe that if you write down your dreams and goals then we most likely will make them happen. Some people make mood boards or write in a journal, however it is you choose to do just make sure that acknowledge the things that you want to accomplish fo the year and look at them daily! Speak your dreams into existence and with some work things should begin to unfold.

What was your resolution?
I hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday and may this year be better than the last!

Hugs and Love :)
