Its the most wonderful time of the year

Happy December guys!!! I have a love hate relationship with this month, the reason being that me and being cold don't get along but I absolutely LOOOOVE the holidays! The smell of fresh cut Christmas trees, hot chocolate with marshmallows, holiday decor and snow on the trees makes my soul happy!  Although this time of year can be a tad bit hectic and crazy to begin with it slows and the quality time spent with family and friends is priceless, and I find that the older I get I could really care less about the material things that comes with the holidays but there's more meaning to it and I fully appreciate it.

Its also time for protective styling in which in the past I kind of struggled with because I would run out of ideas for my hair besides top knots and two french braids with a hat thrown on top. So for my curly and naturals out there do you have any suggestions as far as protective hairstyles? I will also try to share the styles that I do come up with and feel free to do the same :)

Ive been wearing this twist updo for the past 5 days. Its really easy to do and is a great protective style!

Hugs and Holiday Love :)

Curly Hair Day!!!

If you didnt already know...Im a curly girl! One of the best decisions Ive made in my adult life. Although my hair has never been chemically altered from the age of 18 my hair was always flat ironed, which lead to crazy amounts of damage. When I turned 23 after I had died my hair I realized I needed to make a change in my hair's health and the curly girl in me was born...again.

Anyway back to the reason for this post. Wear your hair curly day is to help support The Willie Mae Rock Camp in which Garnier is donating $20,000. Being able to support young girls become more confident and build self esteem is such a great thing!

The Girls Rock Camps build self‑esteem, encourage creativity and help girls find their voice and become their best selves through music education and performance. At the camps, girls form a band, learn to play instruments, write songs and then perform in a rockin’ concert. Learn more about Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls here.

Hair Story

Now this is a story all about how my life got flipped-turned upside down, I'd like to take a minute just sit right there....wait thats not my theme song lol (although it would be cool to have one.) But seriously, this is my hair story and I decided to record it because I really just didnt want to type (lazy moment) and I havent made a video in a long time so I thought it would be a good time to do so.

Hope you enjoy! :)

Protective Style Challenge Update!

Who knew that I would make it this far in this challenge? I must say though that I am pretty proud of myself for sticking with it because about a month ago I was ready to call it quits! Although I am still anxious about Feb 19th, it is more so because I want to see the progress in my hair's health.

A few weeks before the PSC I started finger detangling my hair which has helped tremendously with knots and shedding.  Moisture is KEY, especially in the colder months and these protective styles help keep that moisture in and olive oil and vatika oil have become my best friends. For my current protective style Ive been bonding my hair and wearing a hat on top of them.  The pic below are the results from when I unbonded my hair and I must say that it LOVE it! Still curly but stretched and moisturized.

Have you joined the challenge?

Product haul!

Happy hump day guys! Im still under the weather though, praying that I get better soon and trying to rest when I can.  I guess this change in the weather caught up with me.
Anywhoo I bought a few items over the past month and I decieded to share what I got before I put them away. Is that sad that I've kept them in the boxes that they came in for a month? The first box I got is from sephora. I had been looking for a facial scrubbing brush for a long time and came across this one on the website. Ive used it a few times and I really love it! The brissles are really soft and it helps the appearance of pores on my face and also help face circulation. The fresh sugar lip balm duo set was a beauty insider bday gift and the bare minerals matte foundation was a freebie but I must say that I do like it alot!

Back in September I started hearing alot about the Miss Jessies Pillow Soft Curls styler, and because they had free shipping with no minimum I couldnt pass it up. I have used it several times and it def makes my hair super soft and my curls are still defined but alot more free.  Im not sure how it would be on other curl types and patterns but on mine it worked well if you dnt want too much hold.

Last but not least, a few posts ago I wrote about Clinique and their BCA campaign. I bought the chubby stick mostly because of the breast cancer affilation and donation, but surprisingly I liked the product alot more than I expected which made buying it even better! If you still want to you have until Nov 15 to buy your chubby stick and help support breast cancer.

Do you guys have any new products?

Hugs and love with a box of tissues :)
